Family Dispute Resolution

Laura Catone-Tarcea is an accredited Family Mediator working in Durham and the GTA region, focusing on developing parenting plans and developing coping mechanisms with families undergoing separation. Laura is the founder of the Family Mediation and Resource Centre, a non-profit organization with a mandate to support low-income families during their separation processes and empower them to amicably resolve their disputes outside of court. She is committed to connecting her clients with effective and trusted resources, such as legal, financial, mental health and educational services.

Laura is passionate about researching community needs and, when necessary, advocating for effective reform, and increasing and diversifying access to justice for low-income population is a central aspect of her work. Laura has been actively involved with Youth Assisting Youth since 2003 and she volunteers at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health, where she conducts behavioural and cognitive assessments with children and youth. Laura is currently the President of Community Justice Alternatives of Durham.

Eva Iole DiGiammarino is a lawyer dedicated to working with families experiencing high conflict divorce and separation.

For many years, Eva volunteered as a community mediator for youth living in the Jane and Finch area of Toronto. Inspired by the power of mediation to resolve conflicts peacefully, Eva obtained her law degree so that she could assist individuals locked in legal disputes.

Eva's unique background as a sexual assault support counsellor allows her to have the special skills necessary to work with clients who have experienced physical and emotional trauma.

Eva works as both a litigator and mediator in Vaughan, Ontario. She practices family law, civil litigation and wills & estates. Eva is excited to offer services in fertility law, beginning in March of 2016.
